FAQ’S

NeoGen Plasma is a non surgical skin rejuvenation treatment that uses nitrogen plasma energy to tighten, resurface, and skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production, treating wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, and laxity with customizable intensity for minimal downtime.

Common Application: Face, neck, and delicate eyelid areas (non-surgical blepharoplasty)

Skin Goals: Improves skin laxity, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and pigmentation, large pores, benign skin lesions

Procedure Time: Varies, ie. 30-60 minutes for full face

Downtime: 1-10 days, depending on intensity level used

Why we like it: The entire skin architecture is treated, promoting comprehensive rejuvenation. Initial improvements appear within 3-5 days. Continued, long-lasting skin tightening and collagen regeneration can continue to develop for up to 12 months.

  • Arrive to your appoint with a clean face and no makeup, false eye-lashes or contact lenses

  • Depending on the treatment, a topical numbing agent may be applied to your treatment area(s) and covered with a thin layer of plastic and/or a hydrating mask

  • You may experience a “burning” or “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment and up to 24 hours after treatment. This is the normal sensation of heat exiting the skin

  • You may experience some mild to moderate swelling to the treated area(s). Expect moderate/excessive swelling around the eyes. An antihistamine, such as Benadryl, can help to reduce swelling and expedite the healing process. This can be taken for 2-3 days, or as you deem necessary

  • Do not apply makeup or any creams, serums or ointments following your treatment unless provided or recommended by your museSKNclinic technician, ie. Cytoderma, Aquafora, SPF

  • If you had any areas on your face treated, it is recommended that you sleep on your back, with your head elevated to minimize swelling

  • Most importantly, DO NOT PICK the treated area(s)

Post-Treatment Considerations

  • Do not cleanse the treated area(s) for 96 hours, this includes water and steam. Keep the area dry

  • On the evening of your treatment day, reapply the Aquafora before bed; ensure you are sleeping on clean pillowcases and bedding

  • Sleep on your back, to ensure pillow and sheets do not stick to treated area

  • Apply Cytoderma followed by a mineral-based sunscreen.  Re-apply the sunscreen 2-3 times per day, even when inside during the day; indoor lighting (TV, Monitor, Tablets, overhead lighting, etc.) can cause risk of pigmentation on new healing skin.

  • If at any point, the skin feels too dry, apply a thin layer of Aquafora

  • Continue to drink a minimum of 2 cups of electrolytes per day for 3 days post-treatment

  • Do not shave or apply make-up until the treated area has completely peeled

  • After 96 hours, cleanse face, morning and night, with a mild gentle cleanser, using the pat and splash method

  • Continue this process until the treated area has peeled

  • Once the treated area has peeled, it is important to continue applying the mineral based sunscreen 2-3 times per day, even when inside

 Additional Considerations:

  • Do not apply active products (ie. retinol, Vit C, etc.) for 60 days.

  • No saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, hot steam showers, or working out for 72 hours if medium energy used during treatment, or 1 week if high energy used

  • Keep pets off the bed during the healing process, if possible

  • NeoGen Plasma is a non-surgical device that facilitates fibroblast generation and continued regeneration as well as massive collagen production and elastin formation resulting in skin that is tighter, more contoured and youthful-looking.

  • While both treatments use plasma-based energy, NeoGen Plasma focuses on overall skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation for texture, tone, and firmness, whereas Plexr Plasma is typically used for targeted lifting, tightening, and correction of localized concerns such as eyelid laxity or small skin irregularities. Your provider will help determine which option best aligns with your goals.

  • Most clients describe NeoGen as a controlled, tolerable sensation rather than pain. We use advanced techniques and supportive care to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment. Any discomfort is generally mild and temporary, and we will discuss comfort options during your consultation.

  • Recovery varies depending on treatment depth and individual skin response. NeoGen Plasma may involve light redness or flaking as the skin renews, while Plexr Plasma can have small crusting at targeted sites. Both typically have shorter, predictable recoveries compared to surgical options, and specific aftercare guidance will be provided to support optimal healing.

  • With both NeoGen and Plexr, results tend to emerge gradually as collagen remodeling and skin renewal occur. Many clients notice improvements within a few weeks, with continued enhancement over several months. The pace of change reflects thoughtful, natural skin physiology and aligns with long-term health.

  • Yes. NeoGen and Plexr plasma technologies are used in licensed clinics under trained professional supervision. At our clinic, patient safety, careful candidacy assessment, and personalized treatment planning are always prioritized. We will review your medical history and expectations during consultation to ensure suitability.

  • The number of sessions depends on your skin’s condition, the treatment chosen, and your individual goals. Some clients benefit from a single advanced session, while others choose a series for progressive refinement. Your provider will customize a plan that balances effectiveness with your unique skin needs.

  • Plasma and laser technologies serve different, valuable purposes. Plasma treatments can offer precise control and less aggressive recovery for certain concerns, while laser may be appropriate for others. The best approach is determined based on your skin’s needs, tolerance, and desired outcomes. We’ll guide you carefully toward the option that is right for you.

  • Your consultation focuses on listening to your concerns and understanding your skin’s condition. We will assess your goals, discuss treatment options (including plasma, peels, microneedling, etc.), and outline a personalized plan. Our priority is clear guidance, realistic expectations, and a supportive experience.
