Plexr Lumen
Plexr Lumen™ is an advanced plasma skin rejuvenation treatment designed to tighten, resurface, and restore aging skin without surgery. Using controlled plasma energy, the treatment stimulates your body's natural healing response, encouraging collagen and elastin remodelling while improving skin texture, tone, and firmness.
Like microneedling, Plexr Lumen activates your skin's natural healing response to encourage new collagen and elastin production. However, Plexr Lumen uses precision plasma energy to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface. This stimulates collagen remodelling while also producing immediate tissue contraction, allowing it to address concerns that microneedling alone may not effectively treat.
Plexr Lumen is particularly well suited for areas where the skin is thinner or more delicate, including the eyelids, around the mouth, the neck, and the décolletage. It can help improve fine lines, crepey skin, uneven texture, and mild to moderate skin laxity while supporting long-term skin regeneration.
Uses for Plexr Lumen:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Crepey skin
Mild to moderate skin laxity
Dull skin
Sun-damaged skin
Enlarged pores
Neck and décolletage rejuvenation
Acne scars and uneven skin texture
Personalized treatment plans based on your skin and goals
Procedure Time: 45-90 minutes
Downtime: 1-2 days
Inform your clinician of all medications, supplements, and active skincare.
Notify your technician if you take antibiotics, blood thinners, Accutane, or have a history of cold sores.
Avoid any kind of tanning (spray tanning, sun tanning and tanning beds) for 4 weeks prior to your treatment.
For pigmentation-prone skin (Fitzpatrick Skin Type IV–VI), begin special prep 3 weeks prior.
Areas to be treated should be free from recent skin resurfacing treatments, toxins, fillers, retinols, active ingredients, and/or chemical peels for at least 7–14 days prior to your appointment, unless otherwise discussed with your technician.
Daily sunscreen with SPF 40 or higher must be applied every day for at least 30 days before treatment. Apply sunscreen first thing in the morning and reapply in the afternoon as needed.
Lastly, you may feel like social distancing following your treatment (esp. after a non-surgical blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift) so you may want to run errands and buy groceries prior to your treatment.
Pre-Treatment Preparations
The Plexr lumen device creates tiny “carbon dust” scabs that fall off naturally within 6–10 days. Do not rub or pick the treated area(s)
Do not cleanse the treated area(s) for 96 hours, this includes water and steam. Keep the area dry.
On the evening of your treatment day, you may apply Aquafora before bed; ensure you are sleeping on clean pillowcases and bedding.
Sleep on your back, to ensure pillow and sheets do not stick to treated area.
Apply Cytoderma followed by a mineral-based sunscreen. Re-apply the sunscreen 2-3 times per day, even when inside during the day; indoor lighting (TV, Monitor, Tablets, overhead lighting, etc.) can cause risk of pigmentation on new healing skin.
If at any point, the skin feels too dry, apply a thin layer of Aquafora.
Continue to drink a minimum of 2 cups of electrolytes per day for 3 days post-treatment.
Do not shave or apply make-up until the treated area has completely healed.
After 96 hours, cleanse face, morning and night, with a mild gentle cleanser, using the pat and splash method.
Continue this process until the treated area has healed.
Once the treated area has healed, it is important to continue applying the mineral based sunscreen daily, even when inside.
Additional Considerations:
Do not apply active products (ie. retinol, Vit C, etc.) until your skin is healed and you’ve discussed with your practitioner
No saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, hot steam showers, or working out for 72 hours if medium energy used during treatment, or 1 week if high energy used
Keep pets off the bed during the healing process, if possible
Day of Treatment
Avoid caffeinated beverages such as coffee or tea at least 4 hours prior to your appointment.
Arrive to your appointment with a clean face and no makeup, false eye-lashes or contact lenses
Depending on the treatment, a topical numbing agent may be applied to your treatment area(s) and covered with a thin layer of plastic and/or a hydrating mask
You may experience warmth or a mild “burning” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment and up to 24 hours after treatment. This is the normal sensation of heat exiting the skin
You may experience some mild to moderate redness and swelling to the treated area(s). Expect moderate swelling around the eyes. If you feel it’s bothersome, an antihistamine, such as Benadryl, can help to reduce swelling and expedite the healing process. This can be taken for 2-3 days, or as you deem necessary
Do not apply makeup or any creams, serums or ointments following your treatment unless provided or recommended by your museSKNclinic technician, ie. Cytoderma, Aquafora, SPF
Most importantly, DO NOT PICK the treated area(s)

FAQ’S
-
Plexr Lumen uses a roller that moves across the skin, using controlled plasma energy to stimulate the body's natural wound-healing response, encouraging collagen and elastin remodelling while supporting cellular renewal. The treatment helps improve skin texture, firmness, and tone, resulting in healthier, more resilient-looking skin over time.
-
Both treatments stimulate collagen production, but they do so differently.
Microneedling creates tiny controlled channels in the skin using fine needles.
Plexr Lumen uses advanced plasma energy to stimulate collagen remodelling while also encouraging gentle skin resurfacing and renewal. This allows it to improve not only collagen production but also skin texture, tone, and firmness.
-
Yes. Plexr Lumen is an excellent option for mature skin because it focuses on improving skin quality by encouraging natural collagen remodelling.
While collagen production naturally slows after menopause, the skin still responds to collagen-stimulating treatments. A personalized treatment plan may include additional therapies or medical-grade skincare to optimize your results.
-
Most clients compare Plexr Lumen to microneedling. A topical anesthetic is applied before treatment to enhance comfort.
-
Treatment time varies depending on the number of areas being addressed, but most sessions take between 45 to 90 minutes. This includes preparation, application of topical anesthetic, and the treatment itself. A personalized consultation will provide a more accurate estimate based on your specific needs.
-
Downtime depends on the treatment intensity and area being treated.
Most people can expect:
Redness immediately after treatment
Mild swelling for the first 24–48 hours, if any
Dryness or flaking as the skin renews
Progressive improvement over the following weeks
-
Some improvements in skin texture and radiance may be visible within a few weeks.
Because new collagen takes time to form, the most noticeable improvements typically develop over 8–12 weeks, with collagen remodelling continuing for several months.
-
Results from Plexr Lumen are typically long-lasting, often maintained for up to several years before a touch-up may be desired. Longevity depends on factors such as your age, skin quality, and lifestyle. Maintenance sessions can help sustain the outcomes over time.
-
Yes. When performed by a trained and qualified medical professional, Plexr Lumen has a strong safety profile and is considered a minimally invasive, non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment. Like all aesthetic procedures, it involves a controlled healing response, so temporary redness, swelling, and mild crusting may occur as your skin repairs itself. Serious complications are uncommon but can include infection, pigmentation changes, or scarring if the treatment is not performed correctly or aftercare instructions are not followed.
During your consultation, we'll carefully assess your skin, medical history, and goals to ensure Plexr Lumen is both safe and appropriate for you.

-
Many patients notice visible improvement after a single treatment.
However, depending on your skin condition and goals, a series of 2–4 treatments may be recommended for optimal collagen remodelling and long-term improvement.
Your treatment plan will be personalized during your consultation.
-
It's best to avoid makeup until your skin has healed sufficiently and any redness, crusting, or surface irritation has resolved. Applying makeup too early can interfere with healing and increase the risk of irritation or infection. Your practitioner will provide personalized guidance based on your treatment and recovery, but most patients can gradually return to their normal skincare and makeup routine once the skin barrier has fully recovered.
-
Supporting your skin during the healing process is essential for achieving the best possible results. Immediately after treatment, we'll recommend a gentle, post-procedure skincare routine focused on protecting the skin barrier, maintaining hydration, and minimizing irritation.
As your skin heals, we'll guide you in transitioning back to an appropriate skincare regimen, which may include antioxidants, barrier-repair moisturizers, and broad-spectrum SPF to protect your investment and support ongoing collagen health. Active ingredients such as retinoids or exfoliating acids should only be reintroduced when your skin has fully recovered and your practitioner advises it is safe to do so.
